COVID-19 UPDATE

Tucker County Health Department Update May 17, 2022  

Tucker County’s TOTAL COVID-19 CASE NUMBERS reported to us by medical providers is 2,130 confirmed positive cases since the beginning of this pandemic. Currently there are 5 active case and there have been 36 deaths of Tucker County Residents during the pandemic.  Since 05/01/2022, we have seen 26 NEW POSITIVE CASES of COVID-19 in the county. (Total positive cases in April (26), March 113(57), February (205), January (481), December (95), November (114), and October (180).  PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE NUMBERS DO NOT REFLECT HOME TEST RESULTS (THOSE ARE NOT REPORTED TO US). Currently, Tucker County’s community level is LOW.

Individual Tested Positive for COVID-19 Isolate (Positive Cases)

 

Everyone, regardless of vaccination status        

•Self-isolate for 5 days

•Release from isolation after day 5 if asymptomatic or symptoms are improving

•Recommend wearing a well-fitted mask around others through day 10

Individual Was Exposed to COVID-19 Quarantine (Contacts)

Fully vaccinated individuals with Pfizer or Moderna who completed their primary series within the last 6 months OR Fully vaccinated individuals with J&J/Janssen who completed their primary series within the last 2 months and who have not received their booster OR Fully vaccinated individuals who have received their booster  •No quarantine is required unless symptoms develop

•Recommend testing 5 days after exposure

•Recommend wearing a well-fitted mask around others for 10 days

•Recommend testing and staying home if symptoms develop

Fully vaccinated individuals with Pfizer or Moderna who completed their primary series over 6 months ago and who have not received their booster OR Fully vaccinated individuals with J&J/Janssen who completed their primary series over 2 months ago and who have not received their booster OR Unvaccinated individuals      •Quarantine for 5 days from last exposure

•Recommend testing 5 days after exposure

•Recommend wearing a well-fitted mask around others for 10 days

•Recommend testing and staying home if symptoms develop
